What is Mass Hysteria?
The Mass is incredible. But so often this reality is lost on us, on our youth, because we don't understand what's really going on.
Introduce...Mass Hysteria
The goal of Mass Hysteria is to lead 6th, 7th and 8th graders into a deeper understanding of the Mass that will in turn nurture full, conscious, and active participation in the Mass and a richer experience.

What Happens at mass hysteria?
Mass Hysteria takes place in a 3 year cycle. Each year is a different theme which explores the Mass from a different angle. Each theme is then broken down into 4 days, each with their own sub-theme.
It takes place over 4 days in the summer in the mornings from 8am Mass until 11:30 am. The day begins with daily Mass with the parish, a hearty breakfast, and music before we head to the Life Center for games, engaging talks, discussion, activities, and prayer.
Upcoming Themes:
2021: God With Us
Guided by elements of St. Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body, youth will recognize that because we are body and soul, what happens in Mass and what we say and do in and out of Mass has real meaning and significance as it allows us to actually encounter Christ.
2022: Heroic Sacrifice
Youth will recognize that Jesus is the ultimate hero of their lives because He gave Himself up for us on Calvary and that when we unite ourselves with His Sacrifice at Mass, where He is really present, we find the life and fulfillment that we desire and were made for.
2023: Re-Vision
Using the lens of the Road to Emmaus to walk through the Mass, this year is an adventure which helps youth to understand the different parts of the Mass more clearly and therefore see the Mass, themselves, and the world through a different lens.
